Welcome to Ovation Farm, the new home of Susan ("Susie") Wiedman and Encore Sporthorse.

The 50 acre farm is an easy drive from both the Triangle and Southern Pines. Our specialty is expert dressage training in a fun and positive environment.  All levels of rider are welcome - from beginner to FEI.

Susie Wiedman and Encore Sporthorse have been providing quality dressage training for both the horse and rider for over fifteen years. In addition to being licensed as a USEF “r” judge, Susie is a USDF gold medalist with thirty years of equestrian experience in dressage and other equestrian disciplines.

Ovation Farm was designed for training and instruction. There are 42 large and airy stalls, a 150' x 290' fenced outdoor arena with lights, 75' x 200' covered arena, and 2 round pens. Horses enjoy ample individual or small group turnout as well as customized feeding plans.

Trainer and owner Susie Wiedman and the Ovation Farm barn managers reside on the property.

Team Encore has started 2010 with a bang!  It seems that someone  from the Team has been to any and all schooling shows offered since January.  The wicked winter weather caused a slow start to the season but now that the weather has cleared up – look out!  Sally and Flash have moved up a level and are now winning consistently at first.  Robert and  Naroby have successfully returned to the show ring after missing much of last season.  Linda has been showing Tania's Good Mojo with success.  Carol is back in the show ring and has been successful with Dorothy Wilson's horse Norman. Free Agent has behaved like a pro at his many shows under Hanna's guidance.  Teena and Mysterious Detail are new Team Encore members and have been welcome (and winning) additions!  Allison made her schooling show debut with Sally's Scooterriffic, did well and had a blast!!  Susie showed Carla's young Fresian, Pieter.  He has the perfect “been there, done that” attitude.  Mary and Leander are making the move to PSG and working out the “kinks” before their recognized show debut. Nancy and Curt have their qualifying scores for training level and are working toward their first level debut as a pair. Susie has taken her youngsters Windwalker and Harmonik  to several shows, where their calm behavior surprises those to know how young they really are! 

Team Encore welcomes 2 new team members Teena Middleton and Mysterious Detail (“Paris Hilton”) and Meredith Wilson and Landgravin W. Teena and Paris have been extremely successful on the Quarter Horse circuit and are now trying their hand at Dressage.  If you look up “prepared” in the dictionary there is a picture of Teena and Paris, they put us all to shame! Meredith and Landgravin have been winning this season at 3rd level and have been successful at 4th.  Landgravin is a half sister to Susie's Windwalker.  Look for a happy rider and a lovely black mare at the next show.  We are happy and excited to have them both join Team Encore.  They are lots of fun at a show!

      

Congrats to Lola on her lease of “Gunner” a 1996 gelding with experience to second level in dressage and a love of the trails. They are off to a successful pairing. Lola is very excited to be back in the saddle after the tragic loss of her partner Calypso.

Team Encore welcomes Dylan Handy back for the summer! Dylan is a working student who most recently was the National Reserve Champion at the IDA Championships at Training Level. We are all very proud of him.
