This group of dressage riders and friends will be heading to the Ride for Life benefit horse show in Maryland, June 27-28, 2009. The show is a fund raiser for the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Center. Please see below for more information or visit their web site at http://www.pvdarideforlife.org.Entries for the Ride for Life closed on May 28th. At last check, the show is full with a rather long waiting list. If you did not send your entry in as of yet, and still wish to participate, please email Tanya at fishnride@gmail.com. It may be too late at this point, but it never hurts to check. It is worth the trip to go as a spectator/supporter, so even if you missed the closing date, PLEASE do plan on joining us! The more the merrier!
We are so pleased that our own Grace Dalrymple will be honored and remembered at this year's Jill Hassler-Scoop Memorial Dancing Horse Challenge, which will be held Saturday June 27th, 6:30pm at the Show Place Arena at Prince George Equestrian Center. Grace was an original member of the NC Caravan for the Cure, and she will be greatly missed this year. For those who are attending Ride for Life, information about purchasing tickets for Saturday evening's Gala and/or the Dancing Horse Challenge can be found here at http://www.pvdarideforlife.org/gala.asp. The Fix-A-Test clinic and fun day on May 2nd was a HUGE success for NC Caravan for the Cure. The group raised over $7000! We cannot thank people enough, especially to all who donated money and their time and to all who showed their support by just sharing the day with us. Everyone who was asked to step up and help did so without hesitation. This team effort is only possible with tremendous support from the people surrounding us and we appreciate each and every one of you for it! We would like to share a few candid moments with you, please view our photos of the event.

About Ride for Life:
Ride for Life is a licensed dressage show sponsored by The Potomac Valley Dressage Association. This unique event, founded by Pat Artimovich, who herself is a breast cancer survivor, has a very special purpose -- to fund breast cancer research at the Johns Hopkins Avon Foundation Breast Cancer Center. Riders raise donations, 100% of the admissions donations; the proceeds from a Silent Auction, Gala and a percentage of logo merchandise sales all benefit the cause. An annual equestrian tradition, the PVDA Ride for Life attracts top riders from the U.S. and abroad, including Olympians, to compete for prizes and championship titles. About 200 horses are shown in various competitive levels during the 2-day show. The Saturday evening Dancing Horse Challenge with its special musical freestyles exquisitely performed by top FEI Dressage riders is rapidly becoming The Show to See in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Social events, unique shopping in 45 boutiques and a Silent Auction round out this family oriented and visitor-friendly show.
