Tania and Good Mojo (Mojo)

Mojo is a 2003 Paint/QH gelding. Tania purchased Mojo locally after she retired her horse Dan. Mojo is progressing well with his dressage training. Linda showed Mojo during the 2010 season with much success. Tania plans to make her show debut in 2011 at Intro and Training Level.  In 2011, Linda will move Mojo up to 1st level.

Carol and Brocken

Carol and Brocken

Brocken is a 2001 16.2 Hanoverian elite mare candidate by Batido. Brocken has had a successful show career through 4th level. Carol saw Brocken at the Raleigh CDI and purchased her soon afterwards. Carol has embraced Sport Horse Versatility training with her partner and they have been winners at many local competitions. Carol began riding as an adult and is a certified equine massage therapist and owner of Pressure Points (pressurepoints@bellsouth.net).

Nancy and Curtain Call (Curt)

Curt is a 2001 17.3 Trakehner/TB gelding by Salute the Truth. Linda Zang found Curt in Maryland. Nancy and Curt qualified for the 2010 GAIG Region 1 Training Level Championship and finished in the middle of a very large class.  This pair plans to move up to 1st and 2nd Level in 2011.  Susie will continue to campaign Curt and show him at 2nd and 3rd Level.  Nancy continues to spend time whenever she can with her retired FEI horse Landmark. Landmark is happily spending his days at Mary’s farm. Nancy is a board-certified veterinary radiologist and is married to Robert.

Teena and Mysterious Detail (Paris Hilton)

Paris is a 2002 16.1 QH mare. Teena and Paris were successful on the QH circuit before Teena made the decision in 2010 to try dressage. She made the correct decision – Teena and Paris are 2nd in the nation for Training level for the USDF QH All Breeds Award. For the AQHA, they are first in the nation at Training level and second at First level. This year, Teena has decided to tackle the musical freestyle; we can’t wait to see what they have is store!

Carolyn and Donnersturm (Domino)

Donnersturm is a 1995 Oldenburg gelding by the famous German stallion, Donnerhall. Domino competed successfully through First Level and was third in the NCDCTA First Level Horse of the Year Awards in 2003. Unfortunately Domino was retired in 2005. Carolyn has ridden all her life and owned several horses. Carolyn and Carol are also successful regulars on the local canine agility circuit.

Sue and Weltfarben (Farbie)

Farbie is a 2000 16.2 Hanoverian mare by Weltmyer. Sue found Farbie in Idaho. The pair moved here from California approximately 2 years ago. A challenging medical issue sidelined the team in 2010. Sue’s tireless dedication to her partner was inspiring. The bond between the pair is immediately evident. After success in California at Training and First Level, Sue and Farbie are ready to hit the show circuit at second level this season.

Robert and Naroby

Naroby is a 1995 Dutch Warmblood gelding by Gabor. Naroby started his career as a driving horse and has made a successful transition to dressage. Susie helped Robert purchase Naroby in 2004. After a 1 year absence from the show ring, Robert and Naroby were 1st Level Series Champions at Buckhorn in 2010.  Robert is excited to make the jump to 2nd Level in 2011. Robert is the head of pathology at NIEHS and is married to Nancy.

Mary and Chivas

Chivas is a 1995 15.3 Swedish Warmblood gelding. Mary has been working with Susie since 1988. Susie trained Mary and her previous horse Merlin from 1st level through I-1.  Merlin won many NCDCTA, USDF, and USEF awards during that time. Chivas was an open jumper before starting his dressage career. Chivas was the NCDCTA HOY at 1st Level and Reserve at 2nd Level in 2004. Mary and Chivas were also 2004 1st Level USDF Vintage Cup Champions. Currently Chivas is showing 3rd level and schooling 4th level. Mary is a Professor of Immunology at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. Mary has ridden all of her life, starting out riding foxhunters as a child in Illinois.

Mary and Leander (LeLe)

Leander is a 1993 17.2 Dutch Warmblood gelding. Leander started his career as a successful jumper in Europe before making the transition to dressage. Leander is trained to I-1 and is currently showing PSG. Mary was able to reach her goal of dusting off her shadbelly and riding down centerline in 2010 with Leander.  Mary and Leander placed 3rd at PSG at the NCDCTA HOY Championships in 2010.

Mary and Delmonico (Monico)

Delmonico is a 2006, 17 hand Oldenburg gelding by Dimaggio (by Don Primero) out of Rosoenna (by Rosier). He showed Training level in 2010 under the guidance of Diana Hoberecht and was 2nd in NCDCTA HOY at Training level open. He received his USDF Performance award (10 scores of 60%) at Training level and finished the season with a median score of 66.07%. Mary hopes to show him this year at Training level and have him compete lightly at 1st level.

Sally and Flash

Flash is a 2000 16.2 Hanoverian gelding by Wummerstern. Sally purchased Flash from Lynn, another Team Encore member. Sally and Flash have proven to be a successful match, receiving scores in the high 60’s and many 70’s at Training and 1st Level.  Sally and Flash were “stars” at the 2010 GAIG Region 1 Championships with a Reserve Championship at Training Level and 8th place at 1st. Sally plans on moving up to 2nd Level in 2011.  Sally is an equine veterinarian and owner of Triangle Equine Veterinary Services.  

Pam and Donatella

Donatella is a 2002 Oldenburg mare by Freestyle. Donatella was bred by Sally Vivrette, another member of Team Encore. Pam retired her partner Dreamy in 2007 and was happy to find such a sweet, pretty mare to continue her training. Susie has successfully shown Donatella at Training and 1st Level in 2009 and 2010. Dylan also had fun and success at local dressage schooling shows and events with this versatile mare.
